Throughout the eleven months of the current financial year (2019-20), the United States of America (USA) remained the top export destinations for Pakistani goods, followed by China and the United Kingdom (UK).
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), total exports to the US during July-May (2019-20) were reported at US$ 3588.819 million compared with exports of US$ 3727.390 million during July-May (2018-19), indicating negative growth of 3.71 percent during the review period.
This was followed by China, where Pakistan exported goods worth $1535.454 million against last year’s exports of $1701.506 million, showing a 9.75 percent decline. UK was the third largest export destination, where Pakistan exported goods worth US$ 1491,000 million this year compared to US$ 1622,887 million last year’s exports, showing a decline of 8.12 per cent, SBP data showed.
Among other nations, Pakistani exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) stood at US$ 1463,276 million compared to US$ 1250,515 million in the previous year, showing an rise of 17.01%, while exports to Germany stood at US$ 1191,297 million compared to US$ 1210,943 million last year, the data revealed.
Exports to Afghanistan have been registered in the eleven months at US$ 825,663 million compared to US$ 1101,459 million, while exports to Holland stood at US$ 906,558 million compared to US$ 886,469 million. Pakistan’s exports to Spain amounted to US$ 806,443 million compared to US$ 857,290 million last year, while exports to Italy amounted to US$ 690,365 million compared to US$ 734,932 million.
Similarly, during the period under review, exports to Bangladesh were reported at US$ 632,888 million, compared to US$ 690,772 million, while exports to France stood at US$ 395,755 million, compared to US$ 412,001 million.
Pakistan’s exports to Singapore were in the current financial year at US$ 158,866 million compared to US$ 252,499 million last year, while exports to Canada stood at US$ 250,207 million compared to US$ 265,638 million, to Saudi Arabia at US$ 418,295 million compared to US$ 305,007 million, while exports to India stood at US$ 25,009 million compared to US$ 25,009 million during the financial year.
