The United Arab Emirates rescheduled Pakistan’s $2 billion debt.
A spokesman for the finance ministry said in a statement that Pakistan had to repay the loan to the UAE in March. According to the finance ministry, the UAE had given a loan to Pakistan three years ago for three years.
The loan was repaid last month after Pakistan applied for a three-year extension. Outgoing Prime Minister Imran Khan applied for a ارب 6 billion loan in November 2018.
