Federal cabinet allowed wheat to be imported as the price of flour continues to rise across the world.

At the cabinet meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan was briefed on flour prices.

“At the meeting it was agreed that there should be no obstacle to the wheat supply across the country. It was also agreed the government would not allow the flour price to go up”, an official press release said.

The government has allowed wheat imports to bridge the gap between supply and demand, and has also made it clear that commodity hoarding will not be permitted.

“Stockpiling is anti-Society. Citizens should point out those things,” it said, adding that wheat smuggling would stop the government.

All provinces cooperate with each other and with NFS&R to ensure the country’s product is distributed smoothly.

NFS&R also facilitates the ensuring of adequate and timely imports of wheat by private sector importers to maintain smooth demand and supply of grain and flour across the country.
