According to sources, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started an audit of the higher education department for the year 2018 and sought details of payments made to the contractors. The holding zone of the regional tax office has sought Rs 4.48 billion from the higher education department. Details of the budget of Rs. 1 lakh have been sought.
FBR starts audit of Chief Engineer Building North Zone for the year 2017 and seeks details of expenditure out of the budget of Rs. 3.83 billion. FBR initiates an audit of DG Agriculture Water Management and calculates the budget for the year 2017 has been requested.
Similarly, the FBR sought details of expenditure of Rs. 509.4 million from the DG Agriculture Water Management. The MNCH Program has started an audit of Rs. 375.1 million spent during the year 2019 from the Budget and Accounts Officer, Lahore. The FBR has sought an account from Chief Engineer Irrigation Lahore for the amount of Rs. 159.9 million spent during the year 2018.
According to FBR officials, withholding tax will be deducted in accordance with the tax laws and action will be taken against the companies which do not submit.
